Neil Redding is an Innovation Architect and Near Futurist who has cut his teeth professionally as a technologist and software engineer. Over the past decade, Neil has increasingly been working with clients to help them envision and evolve their businesses into holistically integrated ecosystems — bringing digital and physical together into a coherence that is foundational for any brand or business who wants to thrive today and in the Near Future.

He is a leading expert in spatial computing, virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR), AI and convergent brand ecosystems, and applies this magic to activate retail, e-commerce and brand experiences for consumers. 

Neil has started and led Near Future teams at firms as diverse as Mediacom, Gensler, and Thoughtworks — always leveraging the emerging possible in service of practical business value for his clients.

Neil currently leads Redding Futures, a boutique consultancy that enables brands and businesses to powerfully activate the Near Future. Previously, Neil held leadership roles at Mediacom, Proximity/BBDO, Gensler, ThoughtWorks and Lab49 where he delivered groundbreaking solutions for clients like Visa, Nike, Cadillac, Macy’s, NBA, Verizon, TED, The Economist, MoMA, Converse, Morgan Stanley, Apple, Oracle, Financial Times, and Fidelity Investments.

Neil is a sought-after thought leader and speaker delivering keynotes at leading events like SXSW, AWE, Immerse Global Summit, infoComm, Tech2025, CreateTech, SEGD XLab, A.R.E. Shoptalk, Creative Technology Week, Design+AI and VRevolution.

A prolific writer, Neil is the author of the forthcoming book The Ecosystem Paradigm, and shares thought leadership as contributor and editor of Near Future of Retail on Medium, and by advising startups at the leading edge of the digital-physical convergence.
